Search override

The search override replaces WordPress's own search results page with SearchSync, so every search form on your site, including the one in your theme, gets fast, filterable results.

Turn it on​

  1. Go to Settings → Tangible SearchSync → General Settings.
  2. Under Search Archive Configuration, switch on Enable search override.
  3. Choose what's searchable (see below).
  4. Click Save Settings.

Choose what's searchable​

Under Search index, choose Select searchable posts and tick the post types that should appear in results. Post types WordPress already excludes from search start unticked.

Your choice sets the content of the built-in Global Search Index. After changing it, reindex the Global Search Index.

Customise the results page​

Results are shown by the built-in Global Search View. Edit it like any other view, in SearchSync → Views, to change its filters, pagination, meta data and card template. A few parts are fixed because a search page always needs them: the search box and the reset button can't be removed.

Themes can replace the results page template by adding searchsync/global-search.php to the active theme.
