Filter settings
Open a filter on the Filters tab to see its settings. Every filter has:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Label | The heading shown above the filter. |
| Filter Name | The name used in the filter's shortcode. Leave it empty to use one based on the label. |
| Select type | The widget. |
| Included Attribute | The index attribute to filter on, for widgets that need one. |
Preselect values
Refinement List, Menu and Menu Select can start with values already selected. Switch on Preselect Refinements? and pick them: one for a menu, any number for a refinement list.
Rename facet values
Facet values come straight from your index, so they're sometimes not the words you want visitors to see: beginner instead of "Beginner", or a term slug instead of its name. Switch on Rename Facet Values? and add a row for each value, with the Old Facet Value and its New Facet Value Label.
Sort facet values
Under Facet Value Sort, choose how the values are ordered:
- Count (default): most results first
- Label ASC: A to Z
- Label DESC: Z to A
Give a filter its own shortcode
Switch on Generate Shortcode to place the filter on its own, anywhere on the page:

Grouped filters and accordions
Filters without their own shortcode are shown together by the grouped filter shortcode:

Under Grouped Filter Display, switch on Display as accordion to show each grouped filter as a collapsible panel, then choose:
- Multiple open panels: whether more than one panel can be open at once
- Open by default: None, First or All
- Accordion icon: Chevron up/down or Plus / Minus
